简介 :
俗名錢鰻、薯鰻、虎鰻。棲息於礁區、近海沿岸、潟湖、礁沙混合區，深度0-25公尺，無毒性，可食用，有觀賞價值，是經濟性魚類，分布於印度至泛太平洋，產於臺灣南部、小琉球、蘭嶼，最大體長35 cm，模式種產於印尼。
形態特徵 :
體延長而呈圓柱狀，尾部側扁。吻圓；上下2-3排。脊椎骨數112-114。體色為暗棕色，
棲所生態 :
主要棲息於潟湖或向海的珊瑚岩礁區域；通常被發現於拂浪區。喜歡隱藏在礁石間隙中，伺機捕食魚類或
地理分布 :
廣泛分布於印度-泛太平洋區，西起東非、紅海，東至巴拿馬、哥斯大黎
瀕危狀態 : 不在IUCN瀕危名單中
